good luck my friend

I love Wednesdays. Not only does it mark the middle of the work (or school) week, but it is DT Wednesday for SP and Company Stamps!

I chose to combine my card with the Color Cue, above, as well as this week's CPS sketch.

Lots and lots of white space...my favorite. And I just LOVE how the Kokimo stamp looks in red!

rainbow congrats

I've been swamped today with homework! I was luckily able to squeeze some time in for a card. I am in love with the current Embellish Magazine challenge...to incorporate a rainbow/rainbow colors in a project! My layout is inspired by Lucy's Sketch.

I just love it when things are in rainbow order. I actually got in an argument with a coworker last week, because I wanted her markers to be in rainbow order! Somehow she was okay with them placed randomly in the package. Luckily, the art teacher was on my side, so I won the dispute :)

I'm also still chugging away at entries for the PC Gallery Idol, so you are stuck with looking at another congrats card....sorry.

Ahhh....embroidery floss. How I love thee!

As you all know already, my style is CAS. Here's the simple card I made:

I'm entering this into Lilypad Card's inspiration challenge- I was inspired by Vicky's card, seen here.

My sentiment is from my favorite SP and Co stamp set, Mini Card Creations II.

We hope you try out to be on the OCC DT, and don't forget to check out the samples by the design team!

I finally made it! I started my blog a little over a year ago, and have been anxiously awaiting the moment when I would reach 100 followers.

I want to thank everyone who chooses to visit me, share crafty inspiration with me, and comment on my posts (I LOVE reading your comments, and always try to respond or pop over to your blog to leave you some love too!).

To celebrate this occasion, I'm having a giveaway. If you are one of my incredibly valued followers, please leave a comment letting me know which prize you would want to receive:

*Gift Card to Papertrey Ink
*Gift Card to Simon Says Stamp
*Gift Card to Two Peas in a Bucket
*Gift Card to Amazon.com
*Mystery prize of miscellaneous crafting supplies

(Haha, I always wanted to have a giveaway with a "mystery prize"....)

You have until Sunday at 11:59pm ET to post your comment and prize choice, and I'll use random.org to select a winner sometime on Monday, June 27.

Also, even if you are not one of the original 100 followers, and you decide to follow sometime after this is posted, you are welcome to enter too! (Just please promise not to follow me only to win a prize....I don't like when people do that, it ruins the spirit of following in the first place!)

Thanks again, friends.

Save the Date!

A craft blog for scrapbookers and stampers alike

Check it out...the new DT I am on, my thoughts exactly, is having a blog hop to celebrate their first stamp release! I think you are going to love the cute sentiments you can make with these fantastic mix-and-match stamps.

More to come soon, so make sure to come back for the blog hop on July 1!!

DT Wed- Wishes for You

Yep- today is SP and Company's DT Wednesday!! I'm also taking this opportunity to make a card for embellish magazine's challenge- the above colors and background stamping.

The Kokimo background is perfect for this challenge!! Check it out in the shop here.

I stamped it onto vellum in white, stitched it onto the card, and added a simple strip and sentiment. Super CAS.

By the way...I am very close to 100 followers. There might be something fun when I get there!

Congratulations, Friend

Good afternoon! Today after school I made a color-blocked card for the latest challenge at CAS-ual Fridays.

I chose a cute tree image stamp that has been in my stash for a while, although I don't think I have ever used it before. Stamps with lots of positive space (ya know, where the ink will go) kind of scare me because it is more difficult to get a good impression. I used a trick I learned to flip the cardstock over and rub it over the stamp- it worked pretty well!

I went with some fun coordinating colors for the trees, and adhered them to the card with foam tape. I also used my scalloped scissors to make a decorative edge on the card.

The "friend" part of the sentiment is from my trusty "Mini Card Creations II" set from SP and Co, found here.

So glad you could visit!

Lawnscaping Guest Designer

Jennifer R?!?! That's me!

You could only imagine my excitement when I found out that the sample sketch I sent to Laurel last month was selected for this week's Lawnscaping challenge!

I've been playing along since their first challenge (my entry is here). I love Lawn Fawn stamps, so I knew it would be a fun challenge site.

Here's the card I made based on my sketch:

The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn, and so are the "flowers." They might not look familiar, unless you clicked on that link to my first Lawnscaping challenge entry.....I'll give you a sec to scroll back up and do that if you want!!

I used the Frosties set! (do you see the snowflakes now?) Once I had it all stamped out, I drew in the stem and leaves with a black pen and whipped out the colored pencils.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what the DT has done with my sketch...I hope you pop over there too and play along!

OCC Color Challenge...with a twist

Hey there! It's time for another challenge at Our Creative Corner. This week's hostess, Lori Rider, chose some great colors for everyone to use! The twist is that the project must be made by using 3 different punches- and one of those has to be a border punch.

My card used:
balloon punch
corner-rounder punch
scalloped border punch

I was kind of inspired by the movie Up- I thought a house with balloons would make the perfect card to congratulate someone who just moved. (I actually made this card a week or so ago, because a friend of mine from work just moved into a new house!!! Hooray for her!!)

The clouds, the sentiment, and some of the balloons are popped up with foam tape for added dimension, the house is die-cut, and I drew the balloon strings in with a marker. Here's the final card:

I really hope you check out the rest of the samples from the DT and play with our challenge this week at Our Creative Corner!

Floral Congrats

Happy DT Wednesday! I'm here with a pretty card for SP and Company. I'm working with the Kokimo background stamp this month, and I went with a really subtle look for this card. I started with a white card base, then stamped with watermark ink onto grey cardstock. Then I added the flowers on top, and a few little pearls to finish it off. I used my favorite foam adhesive to stick on the grey panel. Here it is, all finished:

Below is the background stamp, check it out in the shop here!

(and yes, this card is destined for the ever growing PC Gallery Idol. There have been hundreds submitted already!)

Twine, Flower, Button

That's what I went with for this week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge. The challenge is to select 3 elements that are found in a row in the above diagram.

By the way, you may notice an abundance of congratulation cards on my blog in the coming weeks. I would love to be a finalist for the PC Gallery Idol, but I know I'll never make it unless I submit a bunch of cards! (and even with that, I'll likely never make it....)
