2011

(if you are looking for my OCC post, scroll down or click here)

Well, here we are.  Another year older, another year wiser, and another chance to reflect.  I'd have to say that I have grown more in 2011 than any other year.  Not only in my personal life, but through my crafting as well.  I thought this would be a good chance to look back, and see my crafty progress from month to month.

But first, some highlights - and no, I am not doing this to brag...just to give myself a little pat on the back for all of my hard work!  :)

In 2011....
...I joined my first Design Team (and my 2nd, and 3rd, and 4th, and 5th, and 6th!)
...I got into the 2011 Paper Crafts Gallery Idol competition, and actually made it to top 5 :)
...I started to make relationships with other bloggers- until this year I was always too shy
...I was published! (a few times!)
...I started my own challenge blog
...I reached 100 followers- then 200!

Now onto the projects!  It's weird for me to look at them, especially since I hate some of the things I made!  (I think "ick...why would I make that?" when I look at some of them...).  Unless I missed a few, below is every project I blogged about in 2011:

January

February

March

April

May

June

July

August

September

October

November

December

Did you make it this far?  If so, here's a prize:
Have a safe and happy new year  :)

Bright and Happy New Year

Happy New Year's Eve! (and happy birthday to my dad!)

Today's challenge at Our Creative Corner is hosted by Anne Marie- and this time we are using a fun and bright color combo on a card for a celebration:

I chose to celebrate a birthday!  I paper-pieced the flowers and stem, but only on that center white section:

I hope you choose to play along!

Some Hero Arts cards + CAS-ual Fridays

Last night I was able to whip up some (last minute) entries to the Hero Arts December Contest.  I used 2 of the sketches provided (you can see them here).

And here are my cards!

And below is a card for the current challenge at CAS-ual Fridays.  The houndstooth background is from SP and Co, and the cute birdcage rub-on is from Hambly Screen Prints.  I'm also linking this up to colourQ- Black and White plus any color! (in this case, I chose kraft)

See ya!

Congrats on hitting 200! Your work is wonderful, and I'm sure your numbers will keep going up!

Woohoo!  Ronnie, please email me (ourchangeofart@gmail.com) your mailing address so I can send out your goodies!

Now, the next order of business is a card for a challenge! I made this cute and simple card for the LilyPad Cards button challenge, using some AWESOME stickers from Hambly Screen Prints:

Those trees are from this cardstock sticker set.  I love that they are printed on kraft!

OCC Home for the Holidays

Good morning, I hope Christmas Eve is treating you well!  I'm currently at my in-law's in NJ...it's always nice to see family at the holidays!  Today Sharon is hosting at Our Creative Corner, and this week the theme is "Home for the Holidays."  Take inspiration from something in your home to make a paper crafted project.

This year, my Christmas tree only has handmade paper ornaments on it- that's where I got my inspiration for this card.  (Sorry I don't have a pic...)

(look familiar? Yea...I CASEd Maile Belles.  I've been in a bit of a design rut recently, and her card is so awesome!)

One more thing:  a few weeks ago I got a cool goodie in the mail that I had ordered...check it out:

I hope that even with the busyness of the holidays you find time to join us at Our Creative Corner!

Hambly goodness!

My first project as part of the Hambly DT is live today on their blog!

Check out what I did with an awesome holiday overlay by clicking HERE!

DT Thursday

Happy Thursday!  Today is my last day of work before Winter Vacation...sweet!

Today is also DT Thursday at My Thoughts Exactly.  I'm using the Holly Jolly Phrases:

I love that these teeny sentiments can fit in small places, like the cutout in my card below (which was TOTALLY stolen from Cristina!)

....and I also had some time to make a tag, which is reminiscent of the card I posted a few hours ago.  I LOVE those fun stripes of glitter!

(thanks again, Aimes, for those tags!)

Be sure to visit Jessica too, to see what she did with MTE stamps!

Do you ever wonder how I keep non-card items like tags standing up when I photograph them?

...no?

Well, I'll show you anyway.  I've been using this "method" for about a year now:

Haha...trusty ol' Sonic is always by my side :)

Lawnscaping- Texture

Sorry for 2 posts in one day (did you see my giveaway?)

Today I took a personal day off from work today to do some holiday baking, and catch up on some Christmas cards.  Here's one of the cards I made, with Lawnscaping's Texture challenge in mind.   I just love how the strips of glitter paper adds sparkle and shine, as well as texture!

Only 4 days left!

Giveaway Time!

I'm here to celebrate!  A little over a week ago, I reached 200 followers!  I decided to freeze that moment in time with a screencap:

In addition, I am approaching my 500th post (I'm at around 498..I think.  Blogger says I just hit 500, yet I think it is counting draft posts....)

Here are the goodies I'm giving away:

Chipboard stickers and embellishments from Bella Blvd, Pink Paisley, and Sassafrass Lass.

Just leave a comment below (by December 27)  for a chance to win!  You don't need to be a follower, and the giveaway is open internationally.  Good luck!

I first want to thank everybody for their support of the Runway Inspired Challenge.   It's taken a lot of work to get everything organized, and I am grateful that so many wonderful people have embraced it!

A new challenge is starting today (sponsored by the Twinery!), and this one is inspired by this outfit below, from Fendi's Spring 2012 collection:

I love this outfit!  She looks so cute...yet stylish.

My card takes inspiration from the print of her dress which has all of those white accents.  The yellow twine was inspired by her mustard-yellow shoes.

Thanks for looking!  Make sure to check out what the rest of the DT made over at the Runway Inspired Challenge, and while you're there, check to see if you won the last challenge!  I hope you play along :)

OCC Holiday Color Combo

If you're looking for the Hambly Screen Prints DT blog hop, scroll down to the next post, or click here!!

Today Anne Marie has a great color challenge lined up for Our Creative Corner!  Check out the fab inspiration below:

I don't always love pink, but it sure does look great with the blue and red!  In addition to the colors, your project must have sparkle!  Here's what I came up with.....

The sentiment is from MTE's Holly Jolly Phrases, and I got bells in the mail from Alyssa when she sent me the stamps....thanks, Alyssa!

My sparkle comes from the bell, and this great 3D star sticker....you can see the silver details here:

...and do you see that blue houndstooth in the background?  I stamped that strip about 2 weeks ago when this challenge went up on the Moxie Fab World, and was finally able to use it on a card!

Thanks for visiting, and be sure to check out the challenge at Our Creative Corner!
